Tobacco dealer network using PDF / A

The company has already archived his documents electronically for several years. Since early 2009, the retail group for tobacco converts all PDF documents - espacially incoming invoices - into the ISO-standardized format PDF/A. To this end, the group uses the conversion and validation tool, PDF / A Live! of intarsys.

PDF / A Live! offers the option of validation and correction of PDF documents in accordance with ISO standard 19005. During validation of PDF documents for PDF/A conformity a protocol is produced and the results are shown divided by sections.

The main argument for the retail group to use PDF / A Live! for conversion was the guaranteed readability of the archived documents over the entire document retention period.

A document in the format PDF / A can still presented on the screen in the original layout without needing special software, because it has all the information for the presentation in itself.
